Reliable cushioning built to rack up the miles, the Pegasus series has become known as a go-to daily trainer within the Nike run line. Although we’ve already seen 34 versions of this shoe, the Pegasus 35 looks to be one of the most exciting updates in recent years. Now with an all new design from top to bottom, the shoe offers a sleeker and more responsive ride that still maintains the versatility needed to handle your longest runs.
In order to create a smooth and springy underfoot experience, the Pegasus 35 offers an all new Cushlon midsole. The shoe will continue to deliver reliable cushioning but the slightly stripped down design will make it a more suitable option for faster running over previous versions. To give the shoe a more responsive pop at toe off, the shoe features a full-length Zoom Air unit. Past versions of the shoe have offered units in both the heel and forefoot but version 35 will be the first Pegasus to receive the full-length treatment. To further dial in the transition, the shoe feature a pointed heel similar to the design seen in the Zoom Fly and Vaporfly 4%.
On the outsole we see a modified rubber placement. It still delivers a similar philosophy as the previous version but with small tweaks to the waffle lugs and flex grooves, the shoe should further increase traction and durability.
For increased comfort and lockdown, the Pegasus 35 is finished off with an all new engineered mesh upper. The shoe offers a partial bootie construction for a seamless fit while Flywire cables help create a secure midfoot hold. The bottom lace eyelet is also moved up to open up the forefoot flex zone and a new higher heel collar helps cradle the Achilles for an optimal fit.
