Brooks Trance 5 and 6

I've been using (and loving) Asics Gel Kayano IX. Unfortunately, these models have been discontinued and I can't find them anywhere.

I'm considering getting a Brooks Trance running shoe instead, as they were recommended by a running friend. Can anyone tell me what the relevant differences are between the Trance 5 and Trance 6?

I've read the product info on both, and when companies start using terms like MoGo versus S-257 and PU Suspension, I really don't have a clue what the difference is, or how much it matters.

Any help would be most appreciated.

The Trance 5 really was not a great shoe. It was overly firm, not super supportive and did not fit great. The new Trance 6 is back on track with lighter weight, better fit, plus a softer/longer lasting midsole. A much better shoe all around and closer in terms of performance to your Kayano IX's. You'll be happier w/ the Trance 6.
