I've been running between 50 - 75 miles per week and my shoes are very worn down in the outside of the forefoot of my right shoe. I've had some achilles trouble with my right leg before and wear orthotics to help me combat this problem. My last pair (Nike Vomero) and my current pair (Nike Structure Triax IX) wear down very quickly. The Structre Triax are about 3 1/2 weeks old and are basically shot although they only have 226 miles on them. I mainly choose my shoes based on comfort and if my orthotics work with them. I have been running in Nike almost my entire life and now am willing to branch out to other brands if they can offer shoes with more life. I don't know if it is the style of the shoe doesn't work for me or the fact the the sole of the Vomero and the Structure Triax are made out of the foam material but the life of the shoes is so short that I can't afford to keep replacing them. Let me know if you have any good suggestions.

Thank you

I forgot to mention that I'm 6 feet 135 lbs and mainly a forefoot striker.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to buy my new shoes asap.

Thanks

If you wanted to stick to Nike, you may consider the Pegasus which has a carbon rubber forefoot versus the sofetr material of the Vomero and the Structure. The other option is to read up on the fiorefoot material of otjer trainers. Carbon Rubber holds up better then either blown rubber or a combination of blown and carbon rubber.

Hope that helps. If you have additional questions, please let us know.
