I have heard that Brooks is making many changes to their line this year. I have also noticed that you aren't carrying any of their racing shoes right now. Are there new ones coming that you will be carrying?
Thanks....

Brooks is continuing their current lineup of road flats in 2008, the T5 and the ST3. The problem is that Brooks is currently sold out and not getting any more in until April. We are out of them which is why they are off the site currently. So I guess that's a good things since it means they are popular, they just under bought and are left without inventory for a few months.

Are there any other new racing shoes coming down the pike before then?
Also, I'm going to order a pair of the Wave Rider 10's. How are they sized? I wear a 12 in most Asics, but had to step up to a 12-1/2 in the Rider 9. Are the 11's also sized the same way?

No other flats from Brooks that I'm aware of.

Sizing of the Mizuno's should be the same.

Thanks for the Mizuno information.
I was refering to flats in general, not just from Brooks.

Doug,

Maybe some specifics on what you're looking for would be helpful. Brand, event focus, surface you're racing on, etc.

Joe:

I have been training in mainly the Asics Gel Landreth II for the last several years. Before that, I was also very partial to the Mizuno Wave Rider. I Have also mixed in a pair of Nike Skylon's for some faster stuff (They're ok, but not setting my world on fire).
I used to race in Mizuno Wave Phantoms (shorter races), and Precisions (longer races). I started using the Nike Marathoner for Marathons, and other races. I like this shoe alot, and PR'd in the Marathon with it. I'm pretty confident that I will continue to use it for longer races. I was thinking that something a bit lighter may be good for shorter distances.
I race mainly on the roads, and have tried on the Brooks T4. I liked how it felt, but didn't buy them at the time. I have not tried on the T5, but have been told that it's very similar. I am mainly a forefoot striker, so I'm not overly concerned about the heel. My biggest concern is flexability/transition of a shoe. I'm pretty neurtral, so there aren't any stability issues. I guess that I should mention that, by running standards, I'm kind of a linebacker @ 6'2" & 170-175 lbs.
Does that help you out?

Thanks,
Doug

You check out the Asics Hyper-Speed?

I've wondered about it, and saw that you are carrying it now. Your spec. sheet is empty about it. Can you shed some more light on it? Is there gel in the forefoot?

Gel in the heal, but that shouldn't be a big deal, the other shoes you mentioned you like didn't have additional forefoot cushioning. The Hyper-speed is light, but has a more substantial midsole, a bit wider particularly across the arch area, so it's pretty similar to a T5. Actually it's a bit more shoe than the T5, but still plenty light. 2 of the guys in the Aggies who ran the Trials, ran in this shoe.

Joe:

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably give a pair a try here soon.

Will you be carrying these in a size 12?
Thanks,
