My coach Kinda had me set my own schedule after the cross country season is over. State finals is this saturday, and then I plan to start training for track. I am really looking for a very strong season and I am just wondering whats the ideal time to rest after my season is over before starting to run again? 2 weeks? maybe a little bit less? And while I am resting, can I still do upper body core work or is it a complete rest?

Usually we'll take 1 week completely off, then in week #2 run every other day as far as you feel like running. On week 3 we'll go back to the daily running routine. By week #4, it's pretty much training as usual.
