When i trained in cold weather, i warmed up in warm sweats, about a 10-15 minute warm up and my body heats up. then i take the sweats off and i dont feel the cold during the run.

I'm not trying to belittle you....but you just do it.
I live in the mid-west where we get four very distinctive seasons. That means that running is always changing, and staying fresh for us. I personally enjoy running in freshly fallen snow. There is of course the down side of it being minus something, and literally a sheet of ice. The biggest thing is that you have to learn to adapt, and be able to change your schedule based on the conditions.

No "belittling" taken. What kind of difference in footwear should be noted?

I wear the Asics Landreth, and Cumulus year round. If it's icey, you're going to slip no matter what shoes you are wearing, so you just have to pay a bit more attention.
Make sure you get some nice cold-weather gear too. Anything by Sport Hill is good, and both Asics & Mizuno have some nice stuff too.
