Shoe for Treadmill?

I am looking for suggestions for a good shoe for doing workouts on a treadmill. Is a running shoe good, or is there a better choice?

Running shoes are definitely the best footwear choice for running on a treadmill

Yes running shoes can be perfectly suited for the treadmills but take care that the shoes have enough padding inside to ensure that the feet does not slip while performing. I remember of an instance of my friend who slipped and fell while performing on the treadmill just because his shoes were inadequate and bruised his leg badly.
